OVERVIEW

Project Overview

Education is evolving, but many classrooms still lack tools that capture student feedback and engagement in real time. Teachers often have no way of knowing who’s falling behind until it’s too late, while students hesitate to speak up—especially in diverse or multilingual settings. Our goal was to build a solution that bridges this communication gap while making classroom sessions more inclusive, data-driven, and accessible.

Classroom Sync empowers both educators and learners through real-time transcription, anonymous student feedback, and multilingual accessibility—all within a single streamlined app.

We designed the platform to feel natural for both students and teachers, with passcode-protected sessions, dashboards tailored to each role, and seamless integration of live audio, transcription, and interaction tools. Built as a scalable SaaS product, Classroom Sync is ready to bring clarity and connection to classrooms across the country.

Key Features

transcription-with-multilingual-support

01.

Real-Time Transcription with Multilingual Support

Classroom audio is transcribed live using AI and can be instantly translated into multiple languages, making lessons accessible to all students—regardless of language proficiency.

02.

Anonymous Student Feedback

Students can discreetly flag moments of confusion or ask questions during a class without disrupting the flow. Teachers see who submitted the feedback, but peers do not—encouraging honest engagement.

03.

Session Playback and History

Each session is recorded and paired with its transcript. Students can revisit past classes, listen to key moments, and catch up on anything they missed—all from their personal dashboard.

Project Challenges and Their Solutions

1. Ensuring Real-Time Transcription with Low Latency

Challenges

Delivering real-time transcription during live classroom sessions posed a significant challenge, especially with varying internet speeds and unpredictable audio quality.

Maintaining sub-2 second latency for over 30 users per class required a robust and optimized pipeline that wouldn’t compromise accuracy or speed.

SOLUTIONS

We integrated Deepgram’s speech-to-text API for high-performance transcription and optimized the audio streaming process using efficient WebSocket communication. Backend handling was scaled to process audio in near real-time, and we implemented buffering logic to maintain smooth transcription even with temporary connectivity issues.

2. Maintaining Data Privacy and Compliance in AI Interactions

Challenges

Many industries, especially healthcare, finance, and legal, face stringent regulations regarding data privacy and security, such as HIPAA and GDPR.

Handling sensitive data within the AI system while maintaining compliance and security standards was one of the biggest challenges.

SOLUTIONS

We built the AI agent with privacy as a top priority. The solution was designed to operate within secure environments, with end-to-end encryption, private cloud hosting options, and the ability to handle data in compliance with GDPR and HIPAA. We also implemented role-based access controls to restrict sensitive data access to authorized personnel, ensuring that all interactions remain secure.

3. Tracking Classroom Engagement Without Intrusion

Challenges

Traditional engagement tools (like polling or direct Q&A) can interrupt the classroom flow and put pressure on students. We needed a way to track student engagement passively—without turning the classroom into a survey.

SOLUTIONS

We introduced a lightweight “Need Help” feature that students can click any time during class to flag confusion. These flags are time-stamped and visible only to the teacher. The system calculates an “Understanding Rate” metric in real-time, allowing teachers to adapt on the fly or review confusion trends post-class—all without disrupting the lesson.
