Project Overview

Managing construction sites involves juggling multiple tasks, safety protocols, and documentation requirements—all in often challenging environments. While many companies rely on scattered spreadsheets, paper forms, or generic tools, Groundhogs lacked a unified, efficient way to track daily job activities and ensure compliance across their sites.

Our mission was to build a custom internal platform that would streamline site activity logging, safety reporting, and job progress tracking into a single, user-friendly solution. Groundhogs needed a tool that could empower on-site employees to easily record their work, upload necessary documentation, and help administrators monitor project status in real time.

With features like job ID mapping, checklist tracking, and document uploads, Groundhogs now enjoys improved operational visibility, enhanced safety compliance, and more efficient site management—all through a centralized digital system.

Challenges

Capturing accurate, real-time job data — from task completion to safety checks — without disrupting workflows was a critical challenge.

Additionally, unreliable network connectivity at many sites risked losing valuable data or preventing timely updates.

SOLUTIONS

We designed an intuitive user interface that minimizes input friction, allowing workers to quickly log activities and upload documents on the go. To address connectivity issues, we planned offline support that enables field employees to record data even without an active internet connection, syncing automatically once back online. This ensured consistent data capture and seamless workflow continuity.

2. Providing Real-Time Visibility for Site Management

Challenges

Site supervisors and administrators needed comprehensive, real-time visibility into job progress, resource allocation, and compliance status across multiple locations. Without a unified system, tracking this information was cumbersome and delayed decision-making.
